Laura Cox serves as Senior Appraiser and Manager of the Appraisals department and is an accredited appraiser in general household contents.  She specializes in preparing fair market value appraisals for estate tax and planning purposes and well as insurance appraisals for clients of all types. 

Laura joined Freeman’s in 2012 as an intern in the Americana department as well as a member of the Exhibition Staff.  Over the past eight years she has worked her way from Appraisals Coordinator, to Associate Appraiser, to Appraiser, and was recently made a Senior Appraiser and Manager of the Appraisals department, overseeing the department’s day to day operations. 

Laura has been interested in art since a very early age and pursued education in studio art and art history at McDaniel College, Maryland Institute College of Art, and for her Master’s degree at the University of Delaware.  While in school she held positions at several gallery spaces such as the Delaware Contemporary and the University of Delaware’s exhibition space at the Crane Arts building.  Laura is a member of the International Society of Appraisers and an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America.  Laura is also a member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, the Loudoun Estate Planning Council, and the Estate Planning Council of Delaware.
