Wien and Leipzig: Verlag fur kulturforschung, (1928-30). In six volumes (three titles bound in two volumes each: Kulturgeschichte, 1928; Literatur und kunst, 1929; Sexualwissenschaft, 1930). Large 8vo. Profusely illustrated in color and in black white. Bound in full tan niger, elaborately gilt, with tan crushed niger inlay, with green leather fig leaf inlay in same, on front board of each volume; marbled endpapers; top edges gilt, other edges trimmed; in three cloth-covered slip cases; by Bennett. A fine set.

First edition of three of the four parts of this vast erotic encyclopedia including cultural history; literature and art; and sexology. Each part complete in and of itself and issued separately in successive years. The fourth part, science, was issued in 1931.

A lovely set from The Bennett Book Studios, a fine book bindery in New York City established in the late 1920s by bookman and binder Whitman Bennett (1884-1968).
