Led by the esteemed Collection of Virginia and Stuart Peltz, Freeman's December 5 sale will feature marquee names of the field, from 19th century landscapists Albert Bierstadt and George Inness to Illustration Art masters like Stevan Dohanos and Jessie Willcox Smith. The auction will also include fresh-to-market works by Andrew Wyeth and his youngest son, Jamie Wyeth. Next to Philadelphia fixtures such as Arthur B. Carles, the Pennsylvania Impressionists section of the sale will showcase important works by Daniel Garber, Edward Redfield, Fern Coppedge and Mary Elizabeth Price. Finally, two important bronzes by Donald de Lue will complement a selection of sculptures by artists such as Frederic Remington, Elizabeth Catlett, and William Zorach, whose impressive Spirit of the Dance is one of the sale's highlights.
