Engraved woodblock by Cole of El Greco's Coronation of the Virgin, ca. 1903. Woodblock cut in three pieces, together measuring 8 x 8 in. (203 x 203 mm). Inscribed by Cole on verso of second largest block, "Pour le sujet de Greco/La Couronnement de la Virge/grandeur de bois/Timoteo Cole"; in morocco and cloth fall-down-back box.

Bauer, and printed on hand-made paper at the De Vinne Press. 4to. x, (ii), 192 pp. With critical notes by John C. Van Dyke, and comments by Bauer. Profusely illustrated with engravings on Japan silk paper. Original three-quarter white cloth over paper-covered boards, paper spine label, boards toned; top edge trimmed, other edges untrimmed; in original box, worn, some panels perished.

Illustrated with 48 Japan proof engraved plates, each signed by Cole and printer J.C. Bauer in pencil; each with printed tissue guard. Original full tan cloth portfolio, stamped in gilt, scattered wear and soiling.
