Massive and Highly Important Chinese gilt bronze and cloisonne covered jar
ming dynasty

Heavy cast two part covered jar, the twist enameled finial over domed cover enameled to show dragon among flaming pearls with wide edge, over conforming wide tapering base, heavily gilded interior, also showing red ground dragons on light blue ground, fully gilded flat base.

H: 21 1/2 D: 16 1/2 in.

Provenance: Property of a Virginia Gentleman
Acquired by China-trade Great Great Grandfather before 1900
