Mid-Atlantic States, possibly Lancaster, PA, circa 1780

Marked, "VIII," to inner seat frame, shaped crest with carved shell and scrolls, volute-carved ears, the pierced splat with rocaille motif and scrolls, fluted stiles, cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees, ball-and-claw feet.
