Freeman’s June 29 Art and Design auction brings collectors the best of both worlds, offering important works by highly collectible Modern and Contemporary artists and designers. The sale is led by esteemed Mexican artist Francisco Zúñiga’s bronze Dos Mujeres de Pie, as well as a 1955 black walnut and rosewood “Turned-Leg” dining table by George Nakashima. Art and Design brings prints and works on paper by a number of celebrated artists to auction: pieces from Romare Bearden’s Jazz Series, a hand-colored screenprint by Andy Warhol, and works by Ellsworth Kelly, Alex Katz, James Turrell, and Pablo Picasso, among others. The auction offers excellent opportunities for passionate collectors of individual artists, designers, and furniture makers, with selections of multiple works by Stephen Swift, Robert Kipniss, and Bruce Kurland.
