The case with slant lid revealing fitted interior, the inner lid with inset leather writing surface surrounded by painted border depicting figures in a landscape, surmounted by tiered gallery with two small drawers flanked by stepped lift-lid compartments, three drawers below with brass drop pulls, each lined with old newsprint, shaped apron and central drop finial, supported by turned legs connected with X-form stretcher.
