A Chinese dark blackish-brown and grey jade carving of a quail 玉雕鹧鸪
Ming to early Qing dynasty 明或清初

The quail carved in a recumbent posture with round eyes and short beak, incised lines outlining its tail, stylized wings and feathers, lustrously polished surface; with later wood stand and fitted cloth box.

L(jade): 2 7/8 in., H(jade): 2 3/16 in.
