Chicago: (Peacock Press for) Argus Books, 1929. In two volumes. 8vo. First and limited edition thus, one of only 40 copies (this copy unnumbered) signed by illustrator John Austen and author Norman Douglas and including an original illustration by Austen--"Miss Wilberforce"--on the half-title. Additionally this copy also includes an uncalled for original illustration, also titled "Miss Wilberforce" (printed opposite p. 198 in first volume), signed by Austen; 10 3/4 x 6 1/4 in. (273 x 159 mm); in blue cloth chemise. Bound in three-quarter navy blue morocco with red leather onlay to spines over patterned linen-covered boards; patterned endpapers; top edges gilt, other edges trimmed; in quarter navy blue morocco slip case and chemises. A fine set.

Likely publisher's binding as this cataloguer has seen this edition bound as one volume in a very similar binding, and utilizing the same endpapers and patterned boards.
