The May 12 auction is led by an exceptional English walnut “Conoid” Nakashima desk; works by the renowned New Hope, Pennsylvania furniture-maker have consistently commanded strong prices at Freeman’s, and Design features 25 such works. Collectors of celebrated 20th century design will find fine examples of Tiffany Studios’ iconic favrile glass lamps, a polychrome and gilt-decorated porcelain urn by Gio Ponti, chairs with impressive provenance designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and various wrought-iron housewares by esteemed Philadelphia metalworker Samuel Yellin.
