Granville Parks was born in 1840 and Ella Jane or "Ellie" in 1844, to Leonard Wellman and Rosanna Nichols Parks of Woburn, Massachusetts. Leonard Parks, born in 1818 in Walpole, New Hampshire, moved to Woburn and married Rosanna in 1838. He worked in the leather and shoe industry. He died in 1850, and Rosanna married Alfred Eaton in 1852. Ella Jane married Charles W. Tidd of Stoneham, Massachusetts in 1865. Granville passed away in 1890, at the age of 57 due to consumption.
