An impressive Japanese parcel gilt and mixed metal patinated bronze koro and cover
meiji period, last quarter 19th century

Rectangular with two handles, lion head knees, shishi finial to slightly domed cover, finely decorated, the sides with reserves depicting pheasants, insects and peonies, the cover with reserves of wisteria and flowering trees, all against an etched and parcel-gilt "brocade" ground.
