russian imperial porcelain factory, st. petersburg, period of nicholas I, circa 1826

Of campana form, the central panel painted with a 17th century interior scene in the Dutch manner, probably depicting Charles II in exile, framed by a gilt acanthine border, flanked by reeded twin handles above a gold ground of volute scrolls modelled in relief and centered by blossoming flowers, raised on socle base and square plinth, with overglaze blue Imperial cypher of Nicholas I and overglaze gilt numerals 1826.zoda.H.2.4.5. to inside of rim.
