ROMAN HEAD OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT AS HELIOS
C. 2nd Century AD

Carved marble, Alexander's youthful face is framed by curled hair held in place by a fillet, which is provided with drillholes to receive a radiate headdress, raised on a bespoke mount.

H: 11.2, W: 5.9 in. (mounted).
