A Chinese yellowish and russet jade "Horse and Monkey" group 马上封”猴“玉雕
18th century or later 十八世纪或以后

The horse depicted recumbent with its legs tucked underneath and head turned sharply towards the monkey on its back, with realistically-depicted hoofs and sinewy limbs, the monkey clambering up the horse's hindquarters reaching for the horse chin, fine incised lines suggesting horse mane and tail; with later associated acrylic stand, brocade box.
